Benches- A self-initiated project
Intimate thoughts; Shared spaces
Benches are curious phenomena; islands of solitude or community dispersed across the landscape, marking routes that we frequent.
This project aims to offer a fresh perspective on these familiar and commonplace objects.
St. Asaph’s community and the localities of North Wales were asked to share their stories and experiences of these benches and their origins.
These encounters have been documented in the form of an interactive map, allowing the story to continue.
Please feel free to add to this communal map from wherever you live.

After the joy of the wedding, we discovered that we didn’t need to dry clean the dress and pack it away to never be used again. Instead we decided to get our money’s worth and do a ‘Trash the Dress’ shoot. As members of the National Trust, we chose the historically picturesque location of Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire.
Some of the photos range from the Fairytale Gothic to the light-hearted Princess. These were some of my favourites. The full set can be seen on my Flickr page.

As you can see, there has been a relative dearth of entries and work lately. Thats because I met the most perfect lady in the world and decided to marry her on July 11th 2009. We had a magical, fairytale day. I’m a very happy man.
Thank you to my very good friend Marie Morris from Creative Lens Media for these particular photos.

Stunning photography from this group LAPP. Long-exposure photography is obviously not a new thing, but they have taken things to brand new levels. A mixture of the surreal with Hollywood-class effects and a small budget. Shows just what is possible with a camera, tripod and funky lights.

I had my second wedding shoot today which I HUGELY enjoyed. The photos have turned out spectacularly (even if I do say so myself). Unfortunately though, they won’t be for public display untill approved by the bride and groom so instead I’m showing our great place cards which they made for us. Great inspiration for our own wedding. Shame I won’t be able to photogaph it myself!

We stumbled across these gems as we drove to Gwrych Castle in Abergele- curiously standing in the edges of obscure country lanes. Inspires me to create a photographic collection of curiosities in Wales.

I’ve always wanted a Polaroid camera and I managed to snatch this one from eBay for £10. They have a charm and quality to them which no digital photograph or manipulation could ever achieve. Unfortunately they have a limited shelf life since Polaroid announced that they were stopping the production of their film last year. I’ve managed to get some which expires October 2009 as they are expected to completely run out by December! They will be perhaps the last few photos taken with a Polaroid so I’m quite excited. Hopefully a Photography Saviour will step in to produce them again.
